It was not a good look to boo a call for unity regarding the ongoing fight for equality in America. And yes I’ve seen the videos that purport to show the fans saying Chiefs and not booing. You really have to hate the message if you yell anything during a moment of silence. And that’s your right. But hating unity and equality? Seriously?
19 years ago today the world came together united in support for USA in response to the 9/11 attacks. Americans were unitedly patriotic. The images of death were painful to us all. But the shining pride in being an American, the warmth and love of everyone coming together, it might just have been the strongest we have ever been. We were united.
Mahomes wants to be a voice for social justice. This should be something that unites KC. What else does this young man have to do for us? Stick to sports? Shut up and throw the ball? My vote is to let him lead; with both his arm and his voice. Let’s get united KC. Stronger together.
